Things you need...
Wii System.
Non-secure SD Card.
Zelda Twilight Princes (OWN/RENT/BORROW).
Wii hack files..
Before we begin the guide make sure you have played a game of Twilight Princess to a point where you have saved it to the Wii System (this is a requirement before the Game Save Hack can be transfered to the Wii system)......not necessary if you played it or not.....
Now lets begin...
1) Format your SD Card to FAT16 (default format setting in windows).
2) Download and extract the Wii hack files. It will extract to a HBC_+_WiiGator_Backup_Launcher_0.3_gamma folder. There are 2 folders inside this folder. The 3.3 folder is for users with 3.3 or below firmware. The 3.4 folder is for users that have 3.4 firmware.
3) Open the folder that corresponds with the firmware you have on your Wii system. Now drag the files and folders inside the corresponding folder to the root of the SD Card.
Installing Homebrew Channel:
1) Place the SD Card into the Wii System and go to the Wii game save data management on the Wii System. Find the Twilight Princess game save that you previously made when you first played the game and delete it.
2) Click on the SD Card TAB at the top of the game save data management and copy the corresponding region game save to the Wii System. If you have a USA Wii choose the USA game save. If you have a JAP Wii choose the JAP game save. If you have a PAL Wii choose the EUR game save.
3) Now back track to the Wii Channel Menu (do not reset your Wii system). Place the Twilight Princess game disc in your Wii and start a game. It will then load the Game Save letting you select the save file that has the exploit. So select the game save file and start the game. When the game starts walk backward. The exploit will start the Homebrew Channel installer. Just follow the On-Screen instructions that the installer gives. After it has finished it will reboot and you will have the Homebrew Channel in your Wii Menu.
USA USERS READ: There are 2 versions of Twilight Princess in the USA. Before placing the game disc in the Wii verify which version you have by looking at the inside circle of the game disc. It should say RVL-RZDE-0A-0 or RVL-RZDE-0A-2. If it is RVL-RZDE-0A-0 then select the first game save in the list after starting the game. If it says RVL-RZDE-0A-2 then select the second game save in the list after starting the game.
Installing WiiGator Backup Launcher 0.3 gamma:
1) Launch the Homebrew Channel via the Wii channel menu.
2) Launch the cIOS installer listed in the Homebrew Channel Menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the cIOS needed for the Backup Launcher to run. After it has installed it will reboot back to the Wii Channel menu.
3) Place a Wii backup into the Wii (it can be a 1:1 backup no need to patch) and then start the Homebrew Channel. This time choose the WiiGator Backup Launcher 0.3 gamma in the Homebrew Channel menu to launch the Backup game.
Add WiiGator Backup Launcher 0.3 gamma as channel
1) Go HERE and download a WiiGator Backup Launcher 0.3 gamma channel you like (make sure it is a Gamma version).
2)After you have downloaded a channel that you like, extract the WAD file from the downloaded and place it in the "wad" folder on the SD Card.
3) Start The Homebrew Channel then select WAD Manger. Select the SD Card as the source and a list of WAD files will come up. Go to the Backup Launcher WAD file you just transfered to the wad folder and press + on the Wii-mote. This will install the channel to your Wii menu. After it has installed press home on the Wiimote to exit the WAD Manager.
Clean Up:
You can now clean up your SD Card by deleting the following things that are no longer needed...
00000001 folder.
private folder.
boot.dol file.
cIOS_Installer folder located in apps folder.
